Spirotherm, Inc. manufacturers the industry leading high efficiency Spirovent® coalescing type air elimination products and its extended line of Spirotrap® dirt separators. Sizes from 3/4” to 36” pipe, flows to over 30,000 GPM for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional applications.

Protecting the investment in high efficiency boilers, chillers, and other system components requires the fluid to be distributed efficiently. Air in a fluid system contains oxygen, which causes corrosion and contaminates the system. Problems then arise at the cost of optimum system performance. Spirovent® Air Eliminators

Industry Leading Spirovent® Air Eliminator

The Spirovent® Air Eliminators “scrub” the air from the system fluid and allows it to break free in a low velocity, low turbulence removal chamber.

Commercial series VSR and VHR units are fabricated steel and available from 2” through 36” pipe size and flows to over 30,000 GPM. Custom fabrication is available for special project requirements. For large high velocity systems the VHR Series is designed specifically for central plants and district heating or cooling systems where large volumes of water are being distributed. All models rated for 150 psig at 270°F and with flanged connections (FA) are fabricated and stamped in accordance with ASME as standard.

Spirovent® Air / Dirt Separator

The Spirovent® Dirt and Drain Air Eliminator / Dirt Separator uses our patented Spirotube® medium to "scrub” the air and dirt from the system fluid and creates two low velocity, low turbulence separation chambers.

IMG_4022Simple to install with a straight in-line full flow design it is available in the VDR, VDT, andVHT “Dirt” model as a sealed vessel and the VDN and VHN “Drain” model that includes a removable head and tube sheet construction. This allows access to the Spirotube bundle for inspection or cleaning.  Two full flow functions in one cost effective product eliminates the need for a separate air separator and high maintenance side-stream filter.

All models rated 150 psig at 270°F.  Steel flanged connection models (FA) are fabricated and stamped in accordance with ASME as standard.

Spirotrap® Dirt & Sediment Separators

The Spirotrap® Dirt Separator, primarily applied in open condenser water systems, uses our patented Spirotube® medium to create a low velocity, low turbulence dirt separation chamber. Dirt and sediment is then able to break free of the flow path and fall to the bottom for blow down using the factory supplied ball valve. 

Simple to install with a straight in-line full flow design, it eliminates the need for high maintenance sidestream filters.

Commercial series TDT, THT, TDN, and THN units are fabricated steel and available from 2” through 36” pipe size handling flows to over 30,000 GPM. Custom fabrication is available for special project requirements. For large high velocity systems the THT and THN Series are designed specifically for central plants and district systems where large volumes of water are being handled.

Spirovent® Drain Dirt & Sediment Separator with Removable Head

A user specified removable head is available on TDN and THN models for access to the Spirotube bundle for inspection or cleaning.

Spirovent Quad® Hydraulic Air & Dirt Separators

The Spirovent Quad VDX combines the features and benefits of the industry leading Spirovent® air eliminator and Spirotrap® dirt separator with a center chamber between the four nozzles. 

Used primarily as a hydraulic separator in a low loss header design, it is available in brass from 1″ through 2″ and steel through 12″ as standard products.  Larger custom sizes can be reviewed per application.

 

Our patented coalescing element and dirt separation medium completely fills the internal volume of the vessel providing unsurpassed efficiency. Connections have been engineered and placed to allow for the ultimate in hydraulic balance.

The unique construction of this combined unit allows for the removal of both entrained air and dirt particles. The patented Spirotube®, the core of the Spirovent Quad unit, causes air bubbles to rise and collect in the low turbulence air separation chamber before being released via an integral automatic valve. Dirt and sediment sink through the low velocity, low turbulence separation chamber to the bottom of the unit, eliminating any blockage concerns

Automatic Air Vent

Spirotop’s low profile and high-compression valve combine to give you a leak-resistant, high point vent that fits just about anywhere.

The Spirotop VTP has a unique “dry” vent design that helps prevent the system fluid from reaching the spring actuated Viton® seat and seal assembly, which is the cause of most conventional air vent failures.  The all brass, stainless, and non ferrous construction is rated at 150 psig at 270°F as standard and carries a 20 year limited warranty.  For special applications, both high temperature and high pressure options are available.

 

When compared to vents of lesser construction and lower standard ratings, the Spirotop is extremely cost effective, in fact in most cases less expensive.  It is becoming the standard replacement vent, especially with facilities departments responsible for multi-building campuses.
